On the way to Mantung I explored the railway cutting and made a number of scoping pictures for the Absent History part of the project:
I had been here in 2019 when I photographed the railway line looking towards the Galga silo. Only this time I was interested in following the old railway line to Galga.
I then started looking around the Murray mallee looking for some very old mallee. I was wanting gnarled and old: a survivor of harsh conditions.
I came across this old Mallee tree near the Brookfield Conservation Park on my way back from Blanchetown.
